STEP 8 - BABY WIPES

broken image

Baby wipes are for more than just tiny bottoms. In a pinch, they are handy for washing a face or cleaning sticky hands.

Commercial baby wipes can be costly or contain chemicals that really aren’t so great for tender skin. But here are some recipes that can save you some money—and you’ll have peace of mind knowing that they are a better, natural alternative for you and your baby!

CLEAN AS A WHISTLE WIPES RECIPE

• 1 roll Heavy Duty Paper Towels

• 1 3/4 c. Distilled Water, boiled and cooled, but still warm

• 1 tbsp. Pure Aloe Vera

• 1 tbsp. Pure Witch Hazel Extract

• 1 tsp. Liquid Castille Soap

• 1/4 tsp. Vitamin E

• 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 3 drops Wild Orange Essential Oil

SIMPLY CLEAN WIPES RECIPE

• 1 roll Premium Paper Towels

• 2 c. warm Distilled Water

• 2 tbsp. Fractionated Coconut Oil

• 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 3 drops Melaleuca Essential Oil

If you will be using a plastic container to store your wipes, be sure to choose an Essential Oil-grade container. Cut the roll of paper towels in half using a sharp knife and place cut side down in container. Mix all ingredients together and pour over the paper towels. Cover container and let absorb for about five minutes. Flip the container over to make sure wipes are well soaked. If using a tall plastic container, pull the cardboard roll out from the inside of the paper towels. This should also pull the innermost wipe out and give you a starting point when using the wipes. If using a shorter, rectangular shaped container, you can accordion-fold the wipes before placing them in the container and pouring the mixture over the wipes.

If you are looking for a way to make reusable wipes, just cut old receiving blankets or t-shirts into 8x8 squares, then use either of the recipes above and store in the same manner. And these wipes can also double as cleaning cloths as well—use them on counters, tile, and more!
